Remember the old days, when you had a proper old style HiFi. One used to buy an AMP and 2 speakers to start off with. Then you would add on a turntable, cassette deck and radio; later a minidisc © or CD system or DAB Radio.
Many people thronged shops like Argos, Habitat and Ikea buying looming CD racks to hold their towering CD collections.

If you average 10 songs an album you could then have 3000 albums on it. The thickness of a CD jewel case is a standard 10mm so stacked up you could have 6 piles of CD’s each 5 metres high – or one pile 30 metres high.
Nowadays a huge collection like this is housed in a small machine the size of a cigarette packet ( remember them as well ).
