There is an incredible array of DECT cordless phones available for the home user on the market from well established manufacturers such as Panasonic, Gigaset and BT. These manufacturers have attained a popularity by virtue of their quality, reliability and functionality. One manufacturer is standing now proudly alongside these giants of the home market by virtue of the above criteria and by having that bit of French ‘je ne sais quoi‘. Basically if Thierry Henry has a home phone we would assume that it is Sagemcom. Not because it is French, but because it has that it has a Va Va Voom about it. The manufacturer of which we speak is Sagemcom.

Sagemcom are no newcomers to the provisioning of classy and striking looking telephones, having broken the mold with the classic retro cordless phone a few years back. This was a phone styled to ape the appearance of the old classic dial home phone but with a cordless handset.

As more and more effort is made by people looking to make their living spaces look good it is of no surprise that the designer telephone has become a key ingredient in home décor.

We recently had the chance to look at the new DECT range – the Sagemcom D750A. These are truly a leap in chic design, sporting a brushed metallic finish and tactile embossed number buttons – everything about it screams out a modest style. The screen is an item also of great beauty, rather than the loud colour screens of some models Sagemcom have opted for a more classy and understated white on black LCD screen with a clear backlight. The slightly uncharacteristic and minimal layout is actually very easy to use and the handset itself feels comfortable to hold. The base is a solid and seemly square with a small footprint and no spattering of buttons associates with other phones with similar function. Indeed there is but one button on the base for paging handsets – all the other functions are accessed via the handset.

This great looking designer phone has the following features as standard:

  • Caller ID – Subscription Necessary
  • Digital Answer Machine
  • Clock with Alarm
  • Phonebook with 50 Names
  • Call Logging

Additional to this the telephone comes with 12 beautiful polyphonic ringtones and is available in either single version or twin sets. The twin sets – visible on the website here » Sagemcom D750A Duo are able to make intercom calls between handsets as well as transferring calls. The single unit is viewable at Sagemcom D750A
